Dr. Joshua George

Joshua George obtained his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and sociology from St. Ambrose University, his master’s degree in security management from Bellevue University, and his doctorate in business administration specializing in computer and information security from Northcentral University.  In addition he earned an executive certificate in leadership and management from the University of Notre Dame.  Joshua holds multiple certifications in the areas of fraud and digital forensics including as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), through the International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners, and as a GIAC Advanced Smartphone Forensics analyst (GASF), through the General Information Assurance Certification entity.

Joshua worked for 12 years in federal law enforcement prior to coming to Delta College.  He was a federal investigator for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, special agent for the U.S. Secret Service, and a federal officer for U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services.  During his tenure as a federal law enforcement officer he specialized in digital forensics and has received unique training in this area from multiple federal law enforcement and private entities.

Joshua is a full-time faculty member and serves as the Criminal Justice Discipline Coordinator and Coordinator for Delta College’s Digital Forensics program.

Donald Duchene

Don Duchene is a graduate of Delta College, with an associate’s degree, in criminal justice and went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University in criminal justice/law enforcement. Don holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership and administration from Saginaw Valley State University.

Don started his career in Arenac County, working for two years as a Deputy Sheriff, with positions in the county jail as well as a road patrol officer. From there Don was hired by the Bay County Sherrif’s Office as a police officer and completed a 25-year career. During his time at the Bay County Sherrif’s Office Don was promoted to a Detective, Detective/Sgt, and retired as a Sgt. where he was a supervisor for 19 years. As a supervisor Don worked with the Michigan Sherrif’s Association as an internal investigator, supervised a federal drug interdiction task force, Homeland Security liaison, and taught in service courses for police officers across the state of Michigan.

The majority of Don’s career was spent on the midnight shift as a platoon supervisor while he taught as and adjunct for Delta College for 20 years and Ferris State University for 10. Upon retirement Don was hired by the State of Michigan as an Investigator for Liquor Control until accepting a full-time faculty role at Delta College.

Don currently serves as a Security Coordinator instructing courses in police patrol operations, security and criminal investigations, and various security related material.

Craig Irvine

Craig Irvine is a graduate of the Delta College criminal justice program.  He was a member of the Bay City Police Department Reserves from 1996-1998.  In December of 1997 he graduated from the 62nd Delta Police Academy with an associate degree in criminal justice.  He then was hired by the Saginaw County Sheriff's Office in June of 1998 and was assigned to the jail division.  In August of 2004 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and in 2006 was moved to the Administrative Sergeant of the jail.  He is dual certified in law enforcement (MCOLES) as well as Local Corrections in the State of Michigan. He graduated from Columbia Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration. In 2019 he obtained his master’s degree in public administration from Columbia Southern University.  He has received several awards over the course of his career, most notably Police Officer of the Year award in 2012 from the Saginaw County Exchange Club.  Retiring from the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office with over 27 years of service.

During the course of his career, he trained officers within his agency.  He trained officers in Use of Force, Pepper Spray, Taser, PepperBall, defensive tactics and cell extractions.  He began teaching the Local Corrections Officer Training Academy working for Kirtland College from 2006 - 2014.  In 2008 Delta established their own 160 Local Corrections Officer Academy.  He has been teaching several modules of Delta Academy ever since and looks forward to continuing to serve Delta’s Academy.  He was an adjunct criminal justice instructor from 2016 before being hired as a full-time instructor in 2026.

Craig currently serves as the Corrections Program Coordinator.
